Back in 2010, authorities has discovered very huge quantities of rice noodles (pancit) were surprisingly was made with a rotten grain and potentially poisonous additives. Yes you read it right and food is totally fake.
Specifically around 50 factories in Southern China near the city of Dongguan were said to be manufacturing the tainted noodles.

Authorities has estimated that at the time, up to 1.1 million pounds of pancit were being made everyday by these factories before the operation were shut down.
